Signing a Cooperation Agreement between the National Center for Innovation and the Arab Amman University

A cooperation agreement has been signed between the National Center for Innovation, a subsidiary of The Higher Council for Science and Technology, represented by its president, Dr. Hussam Khasawneh, and Arab Amman University, represented by its president, Prof. Mohammed Al Wadyan.

A cooperation agreement was signed in the context of enhancing cooperation among relevant institutions within the innovation, research, and scientific system in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. This agreement enables the Jordan Open Innovation Platform (JOIP) to be adopted as the official national platform for researchers, aligning with the decision of the Higher Education Council.

This agreement comes within the framework of mutual cooperation between the Center and the University to enhance areas of scientific research, innovation, and creativity. The National Center for Innovation seeks to support and develop innovation in the Kingdom, while Arab Amman University is one of Jordan's leading universities in education, scientific research, and innovation. The agreement aims to unify efforts and available resources to achieve shared strategic objectives, enrich scientific research, innovation, and creativity in Jordan, and promote the exchange of knowledge and experience between institutions.

Dr. Hussam Khasawneh, president of the National Center for Innovation, praised the role Arab Amman University plays in supporting the scientific research, entrepreneurship, and innovation ecosystem. He acknowledged the high level of the university's educational and scientific research outputs and its pioneering role in encouraging students to innovate.

On his part, Prof. Mohammed Al Wadyan, president of Arab Amman University, affirmed the role of the National Center for Innovation as a national umbrella for the system of innovation, and scientific research ecosystem. He added that the adoption of the Jordan Open Innovation Platform (JOIP) aligns with the university's orientation to empower professors and researchers by benefiting from its services and features, especially as it is linked to global databases like ORCID.

The Jordan Open Innovation Platform (JOIP) is the first digital platform of its kind that gathers the activities of stakeholders within the innovation, research, and scientific ecosystem in Jordan. It offers services and tools enabling them to access and obtain the necessary information to assist them on their unique journey of discovering innovation, similar to social media sites. It is linked to reliable global databases, relying on artificial intelligence algorithms to enhance cooperation and networking among them, whether individuals or institutions. The platform coordinates efforts interactively to exchange ideas and experiences, share knowledge, activate greater cooperation between science, technology, and innovation, and promote Jordan as a hub for innovation.
